Soft pink is a shade of pink most commonly seen on elderly ladies. Prominent wearers of soft pink hues were the English romance novelist Barbara Cartland (1901-2000) and the Queen Mum (1900-2002). Incidentally, the Queen Mum was honored with a soft pink ground cover rose, named Queen Mother, on her 90th birthday. One of the most popular roses of the late 19th century was La Reine Victoria, a soft lilac pink Bourbon rose named after the British Queen Victoria.
