Rose is the color halfway between magenta and a moderate red. Those who see the world through rose tinted glasses express "hopefulness and confidence about the future or successful outcome of something; a tendency to take a favourable or hopeful view" (Oxford English Dictionary). The English word rose comes from Latin and Old French. The flower rose inspired people for hundreds of years to develop a language of color.
